Manchester United Foundation Transition Clubs

The Manchester United Foundation have designed their workshops based on the THRIVE values and they give our future pupils an insight to what life at high school will be like. There are lots of physical activities alongside their MU Foundation transition workbooks. 

A Google form and a MU Foundation form was sent out to the all Y6 pupils due to attend Glossopdale in September 2023. 

There are limited places left for these workshops!

Glossopdale School Transition Clubs for Y6 Pupils. 

All the clubs described are designed to support your child in their transition up to Glossopdale School and Sixth form as year 7s in September 2023.  They are all fully inclusive and suitable for any student to take part.  The students will be able to experience working with some of their new peers, some of our student leaders and teachers - as well as familiarising themselves with our school buildings and facilities and being introduced to our standards, expectations and THRIVE values.

The google booking/consent forms have been sent out, There are a few places left on some of the clubs but the DT club is full. 

 

 

Art - Each Session has 20 spaces  

Gelli-Printing

Get creative with Gelli Printing! Places available for 4 groups of 20 students to try their hand at this relatively new form of mono printing. Using specialist equipment and flexible printing plates to create textures and layers of colour.

Summer sports challenge (20 spaces in each) 

A two-week course to sample some of the sports our students take part in during the summer months. This includes being taught about Sportspersonship and our school’s values along with teamwork in athletics, rounders, basketball, football and cricket

Creative word-crazy club  

Join our English team in a 2 week course to undertake a variety of projects including poetry writing, creating a character, descriptive texts and reading for fun.

Design Technology – 24 spaces available  - FULL 

Design and Technology  

Experience our workshops and get to use some tools and machinery with expect teacher supervision. You’ll work on a project  and design and create a product to take away. You must attend all three weeks to complete the project

 Musical Theatre – 50 Spaces available  

Joining this club will ensure you a part in this year’s exciting school production (title yet to be released!) You will learn songs, act out scenes and perform dances – all in the genre of musical theatre! Your commitment must be to attend all sessions as follows:
