Each Award has four sections, volunteer, physical, skill and expedition. Gold award has an additional residential section. Participants can select activities for each of the first 3 sections and they need to spend on average an hour a week on each. The expedition will take place towards the end of the academic year. The expedition will be arranged and delivered by qualified Glossopdale teaching staff who have volunteered their own time and expertise to assist with the DofE programme.  For more details visit the DofE website; www.dofe.org/do

Enrolment takes place in the at the start of academic year. Year 9 students can enrol onto  the Bronze Award, Year 10 can enrol onto the Silver Award and Y11 into Sixth Form can enrol on the Gold Award. Students can be direct Silver or Gold, meaning that they do not have to complete the level before.  Parents / carers are asked to pay for the award through parent pay. The Bronze Award is £150, please contact Miss Geary to discuss Silver & Gold level fees. Payment can be made by instalments over the year and includes eDofE account, insurance, support in school for the activities, expedition training and supervision and the group kit including tents, trangias, gas, maps, first aid kits, compass and other team items.
