PASTORAL CARE

The pastoral care of our students is a responsibility that we take very seriously. We prioritise creating and maintaining positive relationships between students, staff, parents/carers, our partner agencies and the wider community. 

In order to ensure that all students work, learn and flourish in an environment of safety and respect, we have established our “THRIVE” values and “PREPARE” learning habits.  THRIVE and PREPARE encapsulate our expectations for a consistent approach in ensuring that all students make positive behaviour choices, both inside and outside of the classroom.  A summary of our expectations can be found by clicking the following link:

STAFF & PEER SUPPORT

Any student who needs support can talk to any of the following people within school who will be happy to help:

  • Form Tutor
  • Year Managers
  • School Nurse
  • Student Wellbeing Ambassadors, Student Council including Head Boy/Girl Team
  • HLTA Wellbeing 
  • Family Support
  • Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour, (Mr Mailey)
  • Assistant Headteacher - Attendance & Safeguarding, (Mr Holmes)  
  • SLT link for the Year Group
  • Or any teacher/support staff that the student feels comfortable talking to

SCHOOL BASED ADVICE

You can email for advice or to report any safeguarding concern using the email address below and a member of the school pastoral staff will respond within 72 working hours, sooner if the request is urgent.

Glossopdale School will not tolerate bullying or any form of discrimination.

If you are concerned about bullying / discrimination, you know of someone who you think is being bullied / being discriminated against or you are concerned about your behaviour towards others, there are lots of people you can talk to, both in school (see list above) or outside of school if you would prefer.
