Exam structure and content |
We follow the two year linear GCSE AQA French course. Students are tested on four skill areas:
Paper 1 – Listening – 25% Section A – questions in English, to be answered in English or non-verbally Section B – questions in French, to be answered in French or non-verbally
Paper 2 Speaking – 25% 7–9 minutes (Foundation Tier) + preparation time 10–12 minutes (Higher Tier) + preparation time
Paper 3 Reading (with translation into English)– 25%
Paper 4 Writing (with Translation into French) -25%
All skills are tested at the end of Year 11 in a final examination. Students can be entered for either Foundation or Higher Level.
