Parent Information Evenings
Parent Information Evenings (or PIE for short) is a specific presentation to the parents/carers of students in a year group. Invitations are sent out a week in advance. Senior staff, staff from the relevant year cluster and leaders of the core subjects (English, Maths and Science) attend each evening.
The purpose of these meetings is to provide you with key information to support your child in their current academic year. For example, information on learning and assessment, exam preparation, home study, and curriculum and option courses is shared with parents.
Each PIE begins with a presentation on the key information for that particular year group, and then all parents are invited to discuss any individual matters with the staff available.
They are not traditional parents’ evenings where individual information on your child is provided. These take place at different points in the school year (the dates can be found on the calendar). Parent Information Evenings are more general, with guidance appropriate to all students.
For those unable to attend, resources are emailed to parents in the year group and can also be found in the ‘Helping Your Child With Their Learning’ section of our website. If you click on the link below in the ‘Presentations’ column, you can download a pdf of the PowerPoint presentation.
Here is our generic presentation (not year specific) that outlines key information you may find useful as a parent. On the information evenings, we will cover events and details specific to each year group:
